Product description
A beautiful Roman sword from Windlass Steelcrafts, this replica is based on historical swords from Roman times. These are gladii as used around the first century B.C., and this Roman sword is the Mainz type.
The Roman gladius was the top weapon for close combat in the Roman army — light and efficient. It's the weapon that built the Roman Empire. This gladius features a shorter point than other Roman swords and a grip made from ash and maple. It comes with a leather sheath with belt loops. The semi-sharp blade is forged from tempered 1065 carbon steel with a hardness of 48–52 HRC. Makes a great display sword for the wall. Blunt the blade and you have a solid battle-ready sword for sword fighting in reenactment battles.
