Product description
A beautiful pugio with scabbard by Windlass Steelcrafts, based on an original in the British Museum. Roman legionaries used the pugio as a dagger for close combat. These Roman daggers were rarely worn by civilians, but traders and other travelers carried a pugio on the road to defend themselves against barbarians on the edges of the Roman Empire or against robbers. This pugio features a wooden grip, and the scabbard is decorated with brass fittings and rings so you can hang it on your belt. The blade is made from tempered 1055 carbon steel with a hardness of 48–52 HRC. Perfect for reenacting a Roman legionary, completing a Roman costume, or adding to a collection of Roman weapons. Blunt the blade and it's ready for reenactment battles.
