A beautiful medieval sword by Windlass Steelcraft, based on swords used by the Order of the Knights Templar. The Knights Templar was a medieval order of knights who fought in the Holy Land. Structured like a monastic order, the brotherhood counted several famous historical figures among its members — including Godfrey de Bouillon and Hughes de Payens. Templar swords were decorated with the religious symbols of the Order, and this replica is no exception. The Templar cross appears on the blade, pommel, and cross-guard. The pommel features a coin dedicated to the Templar knight Bohemond II, while the cross-guard carries a text on both sides: Christ vincit and Christ regnat — meaning Christ conquers and Christ rules. This reflects the unshakable faith of the Templar knights in Christ and in their mission. A deep fuller keeps the sword remarkably light. The grip is wrapped in brown leather with a cross motif. The sword ships with a beautiful medieval scabbard and sword belt so you can wear it around your waist. The scabbard is decorated with Templar seals and Templar crosses. Great for wall display or reenactment. Blunted, it makes an excellent battle-ready sword for sword fighting and a perfect training sword for Historical European Martial Arts.
