Product description
Modeled after several original Oakeshott type XIIa swords, this blade represents a type used across Europe from 1170 to around 1400 AD — one of the most common sword forms of the medieval period.
Developed by the makers of John Lee, the blunt version is built for intensive sword fighting. The leather on the grip and scabbard is crafted to a standard closer to Valiant Armoury's premium models than anything else in this price range.
Delivered blunt, the sword weighs about 1.2 kg. The blade is made from 4310 carbon steel with a hardness of HRC 53, measures 86 cm, and offers good flexibility. Total length is 110 cm, with a cross-guard spanning 18 cm.
A great fit for re-enactors, collectors, and sword fighting schools.
This sword is an Oakeshott type XIIa.
