Product description
These ankle boots are based on originals worn between 1350 and 1440. During this period, footwear was extremely expensive. Families constantly mended and re-used shoes, passing them down through generations. Very few people ever wore well-fitting footwear in their lifetime. After the second plague epidemic, a shortage of shoemakers drove prices even higher.
All classes of society wore this style of shoe during the 14th and 15th centuries. They are highly practical ankle boots that give excellent support to the foot and ankle. The hobnails are perfect for smooth surfaces and protect the soles from wear.
Made from 2 mm thick cowhide, with soles 4 to 5 mm thick.
