Product description
The Maldon Viking seax makes an excellent working knife or fighting knife — a solid weapon with good balance. This is a classic replica of a Viking seax. The seax was the Vikings' favorite weapon, carried everywhere for its practicality and effectiveness in combat. Like the originals, this seax features a curvature in the blade. That curve makes it ideal for chopping and slashing. This beautifully patinated seax comes with an authentic pommel and a grip wrapped in traditional leather. Ships with a scabbard and certificate of authenticity.
The Battlecry line of historical swords, daggers, and axes was designed in collaboration with John Clements. John has unsurpassed knowledge of historical fencing and medieval and Renaissance fighting methods. All items are hand-forged by Windlass Steelcrafts from high-quality 1065 tempered carbon steel, making them strong and resilient. The swords feature an extra-wide full tang, and every weapon arrives sharp and ready for cutting tests.
Each model goes through rigorous physical testing to exceed industry standards. These battle-tested weapons carry a patinated finish that makes them look even more authentic and historical. Each weapon is individually inspected at every step of the manufacturing process. Only after passing inspection does it receive the blacksmith's mark on the blade. Every weapon ships with a certificate signed by all the craftsmen who worked on it. Also included: a matching scabbard and, where applicable, a swordfrog.
