Product description
The lituus is an Etruscan-Italic musical instrument. Roman tribes used it as far back as the Monarch Period. It later served in the Roman legions as the signal instrument of the principes, and was also played during religious ceremonies.
This replica is made from brass, based on two finds near Saalburg dating from the 2nd century AD.
The lituus is fully playable and comes with a mouthpiece. It measures 100 cm in length and weighs about 0.8 kg.
