Product description
Built for cutting tests, this practical katana pairs a simple design with a powerful, functional blade.
The katana measures 105.5 cm overall, with a 74.5 cm blade and a 30.5 cm grip (tsuka), and weighs 1,150 g. The blade is made from 1095 carbon steel in the Shinogi-Zukuri style, with deliberate hardness variations: the cutting edge (hasaki) reaches HRC 60, while the spine of the blade is HRC 40. The grip is wrapped in black cotton using the classic Hineri-Maki style over a base of genuine shagreen. The scabbard (saya) is lacquered black in the Kuroishime style. The katana ships in a striking collector's box.
John Lee's models draw inspiration from historical originals and are crafted as high-quality weapons. No plastics are used — only authentic materials including metal, brass, wood, and shagreen. Every John Lee weapon comes with a seal and a certificate of authenticity.
