Product description
This ninjato is based on historical originals. In its scabbard, it's indistinguishable from a normal katana. Draw it, and the short blade reveals itself — the source of the ninja's essential speed advantage.
The sword measures 108.5 cm overall including the scabbard (saya), and 89.5 cm without. The blade is 58 cm long and the grip (tsuka) is 31.5 cm. It weighs 1,050 g. Made from flexible 9260 carbon spring steel with a Rockwell hardness of HRC 55, the blade is forged in the Shinogi-Zukuri style with a fuller and comes sharp.
The grip wrapping is made from black cotton in the classic Hineri-Maki style, laid over genuine shagreen. The ninjato features a high-polish black lacquered scabbard with an extra-long sageo band and buffalo horn fittings (kojiri, kurigata, and koiguchi). It comes with a striking collector's box.
John Lee's models draw inspiration from historical originals and are high-quality weapons. No plastics are used — only authentic materials like metal, brass, wood, and shagreen. Every John Lee weapon includes a seal and a certificate of authenticity.
