Product description
The Aikuchi tanto traditionally has no guard (tsuba). Large, powerful originals like this tanto — known as Yoroidoshi (literally: through the armor) — were used on the battlefield to pierce armor in close combat.
This tanto measures 50 cm overall, with a 32 cm blade and a 17.5 cm grip (tsuka). It weighs 500 g. The blade is hand-forged from 1045 carbon steel in the Unokubi-Zukuri style with a fuller. The grip wrapping is made from black cotton in the classic Hineri-Maki style, and the scabbard (saya) is black lacquered in the Kuroro style. A striking collector's box is included.
John Lee's models draw inspiration from historical originals and are high-quality weapons. No plastics are used — only authentic materials like metal, brass, wood, and shagreen. Every John Lee weapon ships with a seal and a certificate of authenticity.
