Product description
A beautiful traditional sgian dubh by Windlass Steelcrafts, including scabbard. Scottish tradition holds that sgian dubhs are worn under the shirt, close to the armpit. Today it's common to wear the sgian dubh in the stocking — also known as a stocking dirk. The name sgian dubh literally means: knife with black grip. This sgian dubh features a black wooden grip with a smooth surface on one side and decorative engravings on the other. The nickel-plated parts display a thistle motif — Scotland's national flower. The semi-sharp blade is made from tempered 1085 carbon steel with a hardness of 48–52 HRC. Perfect for lovers of Scottish history, as a kilt accessory, or for Scottish reenactment.
