The Red Dragon HEMA Sparring Jacket is built specifically for HEMA. Made from heavy-duty cotton with a 350N rating, it features an inner lining. The jacket is well-padded to absorb strikes but has no padding on the back — effective blows there are extremely rare. This keeps the weight down and improves breathability. The front panel overlaps at the zipper to give you a double layer of protection against thrusts to the torso. The jacket also features an innovative built-in gorget, designed to overlap the bib of your fencing mask and stop thrusts from traveling upward from beneath the bib. The gorget includes a padded plastic plate to protect your throat and adjustable Velcro straps so you can attach it at the back of the collar or at the back of the shoulders. You can also wear it under the bib of the mask if you prefer. At the back, an adjustable webbing strap with Velcro lets you tighten the jacket at the waist for a more streamlined fit.
