The Red Dragon HEMA Light Sparring Jacket is built specifically for HEMA. Made from heavy-duty cotton with a 350N rating, it features an inner lining. It has less padding than the standard HEMA Sparring Jacket, making it a better choice for one-handed weapons like the rapier and saber. The back has no padding — effective strikes to that area are rare, especially with rapiers and sabers. This keeps the jacket lighter and more breathable. The inside of the arms is unpadded too, cutting the weight down further. The padded collar includes a blade catcher to guard against accidental thrusts slipping under the fencing mask bib. On the back, an adjustable webbing strap with Velcro lets you cinch the waist for a more streamlined fit.
