Let's be honest — padded fencing jackets take up a lot of space in your gear bag. On top of that, they often provide more protection than you actually need for lighter sessions. Over the years, we've seen plenty of people add forearm, elbow, and throat protection to their sweatshirts and hoodies for light sparring. Now you don't have to. Our Light Sparring Hoodies come with integrated foam pads on the shoulders/upper arms and elbows/forearms. Remove the pads for washing or whenever you don't need the extra protection. The collar features a blade catcher and an integrated plastic throat protector with foam padding to absorb impact. It fastens securely with Velcro and is fully removable. The long zipper is reinforced with a press stud at the top and bottom. Unzip and remove the hood whenever you need to. The hoodies include reinforced elbow patches and zip pockets. This item is not puncture-proof and carries no Newton rating. Built for light, controlled sparring — do not use with full-contact or steel weapons.
