Product description
This belt fitting is modeled after a historical original excavated in the Viking trading town of Birka, Sweden. Inspired by the art style of the Magyars, it works great for decorating belt straps or leather bags. It measures 3 x 2.8 cm and has a bronze color.
The Magyars were a nomadic people who invaded Europe during the 9th century AD and settled in Hungary. Eastern Vikings traded with them and likely used their art motifs in their own objects. Birka was a city where Vikings from across Europe came to trade and exchange items like this fitting.
