Product description
This axehead is modeled after several originals found in Opphus, Vang, Hedemark, Dublin, Waterford, and Wexford, among other sites. This type of axehead was probably developed around the 9th century.
Hand forged from a single piece of steel, the axehead measures 165 mm in length, with a maximum width of 110 mm and an eye of 35 x 25 mm. The blunt blade makes it ready for use in re-enactment battles.
This axe blade is a Petersen type G.
