Product description
The one-and-a-half sword sits between a single-handed sword and a two-handed sword in size. Use it one-handed, or grip it with both hands — placing the second hand on the grip and partly on the pommel — for extra power behind a thrust.
This sword is a replica of an Oakeshott type XVII, a style popular from around 1355 to 1425. During this period, armies saw a rise in foot soldiers and archers. Elite, heavily armored knights added supplemental pieces for extra protection against these troops. Swordsmiths responded by designing blades for thrusting between armor plates. Weapons like the warhammer and the mace also came into use during this era, capable of severely damaging armor.
Made from high-quality carbon steel with a hardness of 50–55 HRC, this sword features a black leather grip with a sharp blade and tip. It ships with a black scabbard with steel fittings.
