Product description
This hauberk is made from flat rings riveted with wedge rivets and round, butted rings. Woven in a four-in-one pattern, the rings have an inner diameter of 8 mm. The hauberk features mid-length sleeves and reaches just over the hip.
Soldiers wore chainmail shirts like these from the second half of the 14th century onward. During this period, chainmail with wedge-shaped rivets increasingly replaced chainmail with round rivets.
This style of chainmail shirt was called the haubergeon — a diminutive form of the longer chainmail hauberk. Haubergeons weighed less and allowed greater freedom of movement. Warriors wore them under armor through the 16th century.
Available in sizes M, L, and XL. Chest circumference is measured including a gambeson (subarmalis).
