This hauberk is built from flat rings riveted with round rivets and flat punched rings, woven in a four-in-one pattern with an inner diameter of 8 mm.
Vikings and others wore short chainmail shirts like these during the early Middle Ages. They stayed in use until the 11th century, then made a comeback in the second half of the 14th century. From that point on, short chainmail shirts were called haubergeons — a diminutive of hauberk, or long chainmail shirt. Haubergeons offer better protection and more freedom of movement than the hauberk. Wear one under your armor for added mobility.
Attach armor parts to the shoulders and arms using leather laces.
Available in sizes M, L, and XL. Chest circumference is measured with a gambeson (subarmalis) included.
