Product description
This wearable, articulated reconstruction of a late medieval plate armor for the shoulders is modeled on a German original from the 15th century (ca. 1465). The pauldrons (sometimes spelled pouldrons or powldrons) are crafted from 1.5 mm thick steel and feature so-called besagues (or besagews) to protect the armpits. Movable steel rondels attach to each shoulder piece with a sturdy leather cord and adjust in height.
For proper freedom of movement, sturdy leather straps riveted on the inside connect the sliding plates or lames together. Each pauldron comes with an adjustable, approx. 2 mm thick leather strap and brass buckle for a comfortable, custom fit at upper arm level. Three holes at the top edge allow attachment to a breastplate or a gambeson (straps/cords not included).
Perfect for historical re-enactment, LARP, or costuming, this articulated shoulder armor suits late medieval and Renaissance settings. Bring your portrayal of a proud knight to life. Sold as a pair.
