Product description
The great bascinet emerged in the early 15th century. Its key advantage over the traditional bascinet is the built-in neck guard, which provides extra protection for the neck — making an aventail (camail) unnecessary in many cases. Bascinets like this offered extensive protection on both the battlefield and in jousting.
This bascinet comes in three parts: the helmet, the visor, and the chin guard. Both the visor and chin guard are movable. A textile liner inside the helmet adds comfort. Made from 2 mm thick steel, it's available in size L, fitting a head circumference of 63–64 cm.
