The foam comes firmly attached around the core — no need to bond loose foam to a loose core yourself. The foam is soft, light, and durable. How do you make your own LARP weapon? Cut the foam into your desired shape and glue it around a sanded fiberglass core. Sanding the surface helps the glue bond better. Leave enough foam around the core for safety and sturdiness. Once you've got the shape you want, dip the weapon in latex. Let it dry between coats for a smooth, protective finish.
Maintain your weapon regularly with silicone spray to keep it from drying out.
