Product description
A buckler is a small shield held in the fist during hand-to-hand combat. It was a popular form of protection among infantrymen from the 12th to the 17th century and could be wielded in either hand. Despite its small size, it was effective at deflecting blows.
This buckler is classified, according to Herbert Schmidt, as Type IA: round in shape with straight edges.
Made from 2 mm thick steel, the buckler measures 16.5 cm in diameter and weighs 0.55 kg. The grip is leather-wrapped.
