Product description
These elbow cups would have been worn by the common soldier throughout the 14th and 15th centuries. They protect the vulnerable elbow joint without the weight or cost of a full arm harness. The common soldier of this period could not afford a full suit of plate armor, but still wanted as much protection as their budget allowed. Some armies did have "munitions grade" plate armor, lent or leased to soldiers and often made to fit any size. Made from 1.6 mm steel, these elbow cups are suitable for reenactment battles. Wear them over a gambeson or mail hauberk.
