This dress is based on a sixth-century archaeological excavation of clothing fragments from a women's grave near present-day Dortmund. Early medieval illuminated manuscripts from the eighth and ninth centuries — such as the Stuttgart Psalterium — give a more complete picture of this style of clothing. Great for re-enacting and LARP of the Great Migrations, Merovingians, and Franks. Manuscripts show that dresses from this period had contrasting colors and colored fabric strips as decoration. This tunic is a reconstruction of that style.

The dress features three-quarter sleeves. Wear it with a belt for a finished look. Side gores — triangular fabric panels that give medieval garments a flare — add shape and movement. A button at the back closes the dress.
