Product description
For centuries, peoples around the world have used the drinking horn as a cup during ceremonies and celebrations. The Edda even mentions its use. This horn is perfect for Viking reenactment, home decor, and LARP, and makes a wonderful gift. It's also great for festivals. Hand made from buffalo horn and polished to a finish, it features a layer of varnish on the inside so you can drink from it. It comes with a metal stand so you can set it on the table. The horn is engraved with a Vegvisir — a symbol from the Icelandic Huld manuscript, a 19th-century occult book of spells. Vegvisir means "that which shows the way." Whoever wore this magical symbol would not get lost during a storm. Whether the early medieval Vikings knew this symbol is not certain. In modern Viking culture and among neopagans, however, it plays an important role and has taken on a new context.
