Product description
Meet a noble version of the Dragon Samurai sword. The dragon holds significant importance in Japan today, not only during New Year's celebrations. Unlike Western mysticism, the Japanese regard the dragon as a mystical creature that brings good fortune. The wakizashi features a hand-forged blade made from carbon steel with a delicate hamon, shaped using traditional tempering techniques. A hi (groove) runs along the blade to reduce overall weight.
The handle (tsuka) is crafted from wood, covered with authentic fish skin, and wrapped with two menukis in black cotton. The tang is notably long and secured with two bamboo pegs (mekugi). The scabbard (saya) is made from wood, and the blade collar (habaki) is made from brass. This short sword is faithfully based on original museum exhibits. It comes with a certificate of origin, wrapped in cloth, and packaged in a high-quality wooden box.
