Product description
Meet a noble version of the Dragon Samurai sword. Today, the dragon holds significant importance in Japan — not only during New Year's celebrations. Unlike in Western mysticism, the Japanese dragon is a mystical creature believed to bring good fortune. The katana features a hand-forged blade made from carbon steel with a delicate hamon, created using traditional tempering techniques. The sharp blade includes a hi (groove) to reduce overall weight.
The tsuba shows a dragon encircling the sword. The handle (tsuka) is carefully crafted from wood, wrapped in authentic fish skin, and fitted with two menukis. It is traditionally wrapped in black cotton. The tang is notably long and secured with two bamboo pegs (mekugi). The scabbard (saya) is made from wood, and the blade collar (habaki) is made from brass. This sword is faithfully based on original museum exhibits. It comes with a certificate of origin, wrapped in cloth, and packaged in a high-quality wooden box.
