Product description
This Viking sword is based on a piece found in the grave of Viking king Godfred (Gudfred of Gudrød). He reigned around 810 AD over Haithabu and Jutland.
The reconstruction is 94 cm long, with a blade measuring 79.5 cm long and max. 4.3 cm wide. The blade is blunt and battle-ready, with a Rockwell hardness of 48–50 HRC. Brown leather covers the grip, and the sword features two guards and a pommel nailed to the upper guard. Iron wire separates the lobes of the pommel — a technique commonly used with this type of pommel. The scabbard is made from wood and covered in leather.
