Product description
Later Roman helmet types moved away from Celtic designs, drawing instead on helmets from the Persian Empire, which was rising to prominence at the time. By around the 2nd century AD, cavalry had become an essential part of the Roman army. Although it remained a vulnerable unit, cavalry made up one fifth of the total force — typically drawn from the auxiliae.
Made from steel, the helmet fits head circumferences up to 61 cm. It comes with a cotton arming cap.
