Corinthian helmet with crest, 1.3 mm

This type of helmet was especially popular during the Archaic period — the 8th to 6th century BC — and only gained a crest later in that period. By the 5th century BC, soldiers began favoring the Thracian helmet for its wider field of view. Made from bronze, the Corinthian helmet covered the whole head, with a small opening for the eyes and mouth. Later, Republican soldiers of Rome adopted it as well.

Built from 1.5 mm thick brass, this helmet features a crest holder decorated with a simple geometric pattern. It includes a leather inlay and a chin strap for a secure fit. Fits head circumferences up to 59 cm and weighs about 2.4 kg.
