Product description
This claymore is a replica of a 17th-century original used in the Scottish Highlands. Today it is part of the collection at the Kelvingrove Museum in Glasgow. Claymore, or claidheamh-mór, literally means "large sword" in Gaelic. Bladesmiths in Germany typically made the blades for these large swords and exported them to Scotland. The claymore proved especially effective against pikes. The V-shaped cross-guard redirects pike blows.
