Product description
This helmet is modeled after a late Roman original found at a military camp in Rainau-Buch, Germany. Both infantry and cavalry wore it. This helmet type offered better protection to the sides of the face than the older galea helmets. Soldiers wore helmets like this from the 3rd century AD onward.
Made from brass, it features a large neck guard and brow plate. The cheek plates fasten together. It weighs about 3 kg and fits a maximum head circumference of 60 cm. It ships with a liner for added comfort.
