Product description
This helmet is a replica of one found in Northwich, Great Britain. The cheek protectors come from Gloucester and show a seated Neptune. At the top, the surface is styled to represent hair — marking where wigs were often attached. Helmets like this were mainly worn by Germanic and Celtic cavalries who served as auxiliae in the Roman armies. Most examples have been found in the Rhineland.
Made from brass, the helmet includes cheek plates and a short neck plate. It weighs about 1.5 kg and fits head circumferences up to 60 cm. It ships with an interior cotton arming cap for added comfort.
