Product description
These Slavic rings are replicas of various Early Medieval originals. Slavic, Germanic, Frankish, and Alamanic peoples used rings like these to weave into their hair. Discovered in Germanic graves in southern Germany and elsewhere, they remained in use well into the 12th century. People often wove them into the hair in pairs or more at the temples — giving rise to the name 'temple ring'. These rings are an early medieval form of hair decoration.
