Product description
The sax, seax, or scramaseax is a large knife worn by European men from the 5th through the 11th century. The seax features a single-edged blade and is worn horizontally, with the sharp edge facing upward. It came in several lengths, ranging from a short knife to longer than a sword.
This is a reconstruction of a typical early medieval short seax. The cross-guard consists of two steel discs attached to the horn grip with two nails. The pommel is also made from steel. The seax measures 37 cm in total length, with a 23 cm blade and a max. width of 3.6 cm. It weighs 0.5 kg and ships with a scabbard included.
