Product description
The chainmail coif appeared at least as early as the 11th century AD. Warriors wore chainmail coifs either on their own or beneath a helmet. Many depictions, such as those in the Morgan Bible from 1250, show the coif fitting snugly around the head. Leather laces at the top improved the fit, while additional laces fastened the lower edge to the gambeson or hauberk to keep the coif securely in place. Wear a textile cap or arming cap underneath for added comfort.
Made from 1.6 mm thick zinc-plated butted round rings with an inner diameter of 9 mm, woven in a four-in-one pattern. Features a triangular neckline.
