Product description
The chaperon was a popular garment throughout the High Middle Ages. It shields the head, neck, and shoulders from cold weather and rain. All classes of society wore it, often decorating it in bright colors. By the Late Middle Ages, common people had taken it up and began wearing it in new ways. The liripipe, once hanging from the back, was later wrapped around the neck.
