Product description
The chaperon is one of the most popular types of headgear from the early and later Middle Ages! The lower classes of society regularly wore a chaperon as part of their daily gear. Chaperons were often made in inexpensive colors like brown, green, and beige. The chaperon typically combined a cape over the shoulder with a hood — wear the hood down and the cape drapes over the shoulders. Some chaperons were made as a single piece: a hood with a section of cloth covering the shoulders, not designed to be worn as a separate cape.
This chaperon features a hood (without a liripipe) and covers the shoulders. It's multifunctional — use it as a scarf, or pull the hood up as a collar to cover your nose in frost and rain.
