Product description
The chainmail coif appeared at least as early as the 11th century AD. Wear a chainmail coif on its own or beneath a helmet. Many depictions, such as those in the Morgan Bible from 1250, show the coif fitting snugly around the head. Leather laces at the top could improve the fit, while additional laces fastened the lower edge to the gambeson or hauberk, keeping the coif securely in place. For added comfort, wear a textile cap or arming cap underneath.
Made from unriveted round rings of mild steel woven together in a 4:1 construction. The galvanized rings have an inner diameter of 10 mm. Fits all head circumferences.
