Product description
This helmet is a replica of a 19th-century find in the Thielle river in Port, near Nidau (Switzerland). The original dates to the La Tène III or La Tène D period. Gauls also wore the Port type helmet, presumably during Caesar's Gallic Wars (58–50 BC). The Romans later adopted its shape and developed it into the imperial galea Weisenau. The Port type helmet is recognizable by its cheek guard shape, embossed eyebrows, and protruding riveted neck protector. The helmet ships with a cap for added comfort. Rings on the inside of the cheek guards let you secure the helmet with a chin strap.
