Product description
This type of basket helmet developed from the nasal helmet during the second half of the 12th century. It offered full-face protection, with eye slits and ventilation holes in the visor. Knights typically wore these helmets together with a chainmail hauberk and chainmail coif.
Helmets of this kind stayed in use through the first half of the 13th century. Knights and heavy infantry across Europe wore them, including during the Crusades.
This replica is modeled after an original from approx. 1180 and is battle-ready. Fasten it with the leather chin strap, and the leather inlay adds comfort during wear.
The bucket helmet comes in two sizes:
Size M fits a head circumference up to 62 cm and weighs 3 kg.
Size L fits a head circumference up to 64 cm.
