An impressive rapier by Windlass Steelcrafts, modeled after historical 17th-century swords. Rapiers like this were used primarily for dueling. Aristocrats wore them as fashion objects, and owning one carried considerable prestige in the 17th century. The sublime basket is made from swept and twisted steel. A beautiful black horn grip with steel wire spirals complements the twisted steel of the basket and sits comfortably in the hand during sword fighting. The pommel features twisted shapes as well. The basket protects the hand during a duel. The ricasso is beautifully engraved with classicist art motifs in Renaissance style. This replica rapier comes with a scabbard. The semi-sharp blade is forged from tempered 1065 carbon steel with a hardness of 48–52 HRC. A great sword for wall display and sword collectors, and perfect for a Three Musketeers cosplay costume or reenactment of the Medici and other aristocratic families. Blunt the blade and you can use it as a training sword for Historical European Martial Arts.
