Recommended combination
Product description
Bevors like this were developed in the second half of the 15th century. They protected the vulnerable neck and were typically worn with a sallet, kettle helmet, or — at the beginning of the 16th century — a burgonet. The sallet-bevor combination was the most common, and both pieces could be attached in various ways.
-
Sallet half over the head – delivers an optimal field of vision.
-
Sallet half over the head with bevor closed – delivers an optimal field of vision with extra facial protection.
-
Sallet flat on the head with visor open – keeps your field of vision clear and works well for giving commands in battle.
-
Sallet flat on the head with visor open and bevor closed – adds slightly more protection while keeping visibility strong.
-
Sallet flat on the head with visor closed – gives maximum protection for the head and face.
This bevor is made from multiple parts. Lift the chin piece for additional protection. It pairs well with sallets that have a half visor.
At the back, a leather strap fastens the bevor securely around the neck.
