This tunic is based on original fragments from find B23 in Birka. Birka was an important trading city in early medieval Sweden. In one of its graves, archaeologists found a ring with an Arabic inscription — proof that Birka kept trade contacts with the Orient alongside its Scandinavian, Finnish, Western European, and Central European trade. The city's trading position declined around 1000, when a Christian city was founded nearby.
The Knut tunic works great for re-enacting, cosplay, and LARP from the Great Migration through the High Middle Ages. Made from 100% cotton, it features an ornate embroidered edge at the neckline. A front split and extra side fabric — known as gores — give you the freedom to fight, run, climb, and ride on horseback with ease. The neckline has a split you can leave open or close with a fibula.
