This belt end draws inspiration from the Jelling art style (890–990). It has a bronze color and fits belt straps 3 cm wide. It measures 4.8 x 2.5 cm.

Ribbon-shaped animals, animal heads in profile, almond-shaped eyes, and a beast biting its own body are all hallmarks of the Viking Kunststijl Jellinge. Based on historical examples, this belt end has a refined, elegant look. The Jelling style spread across the entire Viking world and appeared in every European country Vikings visited during the 10th century.

The beast on this belt end is the Midgardsorm — also known as the Midgaard Serpent. Thor stood in conflict with the Midgardsorm. Old Norwegian myth tells that Thor and the Midgardsorm were destined to kill each other during Ragnarok, the end of the old world. Odin would be eaten by the Fenriswolf.
