Product description
The sabre is an evolution of the European backsword — a straight, single-edged sword with a basket. It often features a slightly curved blade and a fairly large knuckle-guard.
Cavalry sabres, however, were straight and two-edged. Originally a 10th-century Hungarian cavalry weapon, the sabre reached its peak during the 19th century in the Napoleonic Wars and the American Civil War.
This is a replica of an original American sabre. The blade is made from 9260 carbon steel, with the grip and parts of the scabbard inlaid with brass. It measures 118 cm overall, with a 90 cm blade.
