Product description
This Alemannic belt fitting is based on originals excavated at the Niederstotzingen burial (Germany). Germanic and Merovingian tribes wore fittings like this around the 6th century AD. This example came from grave 9, a male grave.
Fits belts up to 2 cm wide. Measures 6 x 2 cm.
The graves of the South German town of Niederstotzingen held many luxurious burial gifts. Alongside this belt fitting, archaeologists found a sword, seax, shield edge, shield boss, lance, needles, knife, scissors, and silver horse reigns.
