This helmet is based on an original from the early 16th century. The cabasset developed in Spain during the first half of the 16th century. Manufacturers produced them mainly in Calatayud, a city in Aragón. Like the morion, soldiers wore the cabasset in pike and shot infantry formations. It was popular in 16th-century England and saw use during the English Civil War.

The Pilgrim Fathers brought several of these helmets to the New World, and archaeologists discovered one on Jamestown Island. The brim gives the cabasset excellent protection against downward strikes and projectiles. It curves slightly upward to keep your field of vision as clear as possible.

The helmet has a maximum inner circumference of 70 cm, not including the lining. It comes with a lining and chin strap. An antique finish and patination give it a lifelike appearance, as if it has stood the test of time. Remove the lining to create more room inside.
