Product description
This sturdy wooden shield features a shield boss, runic decorations, and a metal border. The Vegvisir motif, also known as the 'runic compass' or 'wayfinder,' was an ancient Norse symbol commonly used by Viking travelers and explorers. According to Norwegian folklore, the Vegvisir motif served as a magical compass, guiding the bearer to find their way, even in unfamiliar territories. It was considered a talisman of protection and luck, often depicted on shields and other significant objects. Our Viking shield with the Vegvisir motif pays homage to this rich Viking tradition. The shield has been meticulously crafted with attention to detail and craftsmanship. The sturdy wooden construction ensures durability and reliability in any combat situation. The shield is equipped with a shield boss, providing additional protection and making it easy to handle. To enhance practicality, a sturdy handle is attached to the back of the shield. This allows for easy gripping and carrying during battles, re-enactments, or as an impressive decorative piece in your home.
